The Xunta asks Inés Rey to send the credit certificate for the intermodal of A Coruña

Infrastructure Minister Ethel Vázquez yesterday, Thursday, sent a letter to the mayor of A Coruña, Inés Reyin which he describes as “alarming” the blockade of the intermodal station and urges the councilor to send the credit certificate for parking financing of the future intermodal station of the city.

In the letter, the Minister described this block situation as “alarming”. “The lack of a budget credit reserve in the City Council to assume its responsibilities with the intermodal station in the year 2022 is an obstacle that prevents progress in the processing of this infrastructure”highlights the counselor.

What’s more, warns of the consequences of not having the corresponding credit reserve certificate. Without such reservation, Vázquez indicates that the Ministry could not continue with the procedures related to the authorization of the signing of the agreement nor tender the corresponding works.

European funds, “in danger”

In the letter, Ethel Vázquez warns that, in addition to blocking the infrastructure, the loss of European funds is in danger reserved for this performance. “The risk of losing funds is real.”

In addition, the conselleira has again alerted the City Council that the viability of the project is conditional on the works starting before November 10, 2022 since, otherwise, “the project will have to be redrafted” for its adaptation to the Royal Decree, which would entail a new delay in the execution deadlines.

For all this, Vázquez asks the mayor of A Coruña to send the certificate of existence of credit to assume the financing of the car park and advances, that once they have this certificate, from the Xunta, they will immediately approve the file, sign the agreement and tender the works.
