The Galician cultural sector will receive an injection of 4.8 million euros from the Xunta de Galicia. An investment whose maximum beneficiary is the Galician music industry, which will receive a total of around 2.3 million euros of the final investment.

The councilor has indicated that, over the next few weeks, five calls for these grants will be published, which will be articulated until 2023 through the audiovisual Hub and will be aimed at self-employed professionals or musical companies in Galicia for the development and promotion of soloists , groups and collaborative projects.

According to Rodríguez, these grants will finance up to 70% of the expenses of each project related to production, commercialization and marketing, promotion and communication, digital distribution, concerts and tours, consultancy and personnel, among others.

Likewise, he pointed out that this economic support is the result of a process of dialogue with the sector through the Galician Association of Musical Companies (AGEM) for the support of the entire value chain that allows the development of musical artistic talent.

REINFORCEMENT OF THE INDUSTRY IN THE RURAL

On the other hand, the investment will be completed with two other calls for aid in the cultural field from which musical companies will be able to benefit, which represent an endowment of more than one million euros.

One of these calls is the ‘Cultural Territory’ program for the expansion and diversification of the cultural offer in rural areas, with an initial amount of 630,000 euros, included in the initiatives of the Galician Government within the European Mechanism for the Recovery and Resilience of Next Generation EU funds.

This plan seeks to reinforce the Galician cultural fabric beyond the large urban centers in municipalities with no more than 30,000 inhabitants and with a maximum density of 100 inhabitants per square kilometer.

In addition, aid for the distribution of shows that will be published on April 29 is also included. These make up another of the usual lines of the annual subsidy program of the Galician Agency for Cultural Industries, which will award 460,000 euros for the development of scenic functions, concerts and promotional actions.

HUB AUDIOVISUAL

Among other issues, the Minister of Culture, Education and University has highlighted the opening of the Audiovisual Hub of the Cultural Industry to the music sector, after having carried out specific actions for the audiovisual and video game industry.

In any case, these two sectors will also receive funding through an extraordinary program with a second round of the shooting attraction fund with a budget of two million euros and an order of grants for the development of video games with 500,000 euros.
