The XIII International Jazz Festival in Bansko was officially opened – 2024-04-13 13:51:25

For Bulgarian and foreign jazz fans, several exciting meetings with world performers are coming up in the coming days.

By tradition, the 13th edition of the Bansko Jazz Fest was officially started with a performance by the BNR Big Band, conducted by Yanko Miladinov. The opening of the fest was last night at 8 pm on the square in Bansko. The large audience had the pleasure of enjoying the performances of the jazz vocalist from Finland Bianka Morales, Yildiz Ibrahimova – one of the most loved jazz singers in our country, the Italian quartet of Antonio Flinta.

For Bulgarian and foreign jazz fans, several exciting meetings with world performers are coming up in the coming days.

On August 10, the “Incognito” group is on stage. The extremely successful formation, which received notable awards and enviable popularity worldwide, was nominated for the American Smooth Jazz Awards in the “International Group” category this year. One of the greatest soul singers of all time, Solomon Burke will be singing on August 11th. Grammy winner, author and performer of “Everybody Needs Somebody to Love” and many other timeless hits, Somolon Burke is on a European tour in July and August, part of which is his concert in Bulgaria.

The living legend of the American jazz scene, Benny Golson, will also arrive in Bansko, his concert is scheduled for August 13, when it is the last night of the festival.

The Hungarian group “Dzabe” – well known to fans in our country, this time comes together with Steve Hackett – the former guitarist of “Genesis”.

The ethno-formation “Lot Lorien” from Varna will perform for the first time in Bansko, after its successful performance on several international stages. “Eftekasat” from Egypt, “Tango Project” from Israel are two more ethno-jazz and world formations.
