During the press conference to present the new edition we returned to the Morgan case and Sky explained the reasons why it confirmed the singer on the jury. Fedez: The rivalry between me and him? There is, as there is among all the others
M Factor. That is, Morgan factor. The press conference of the talent show, starting from Thursday at 9.15pm on Sky Uno and streaming on Now, opens for once without delay on the Morgan case.
Sky accepted the judge’s apologies – who therefore remains in his place, behind the desk, together with Fedez, Ambra Angiolini and Dargen D’Amico – after the homophobic phrases uttered at one of his concerts a few weeks ago. His distancing from any form of homophobia was made even more concrete by the decision to donate half of his salary to Casa Arcobaleno, which helps young people in difficulty after coming out, said Antonella D’Errico, head of Sky programming Italy. Morgan doesn’t want to say how much it is, but suggests: Four apartments have been renovated for young people separated from their families in Milan. Do the math yourself. And he adds: that concert was a difficult moment. A complex dynamic had been created which generated an obvious linguistic error: words are very important and I believe in them. They should not be taken lightly. But in the end there was an opportunity to create a debate and, if we want, we will continue to talk about it. For now we need to focus on The X Factor.
But there is a second obstacle, sitting a couple of armchairs next to you: Fedez. During the infamous show, Morgan had blurted out: Go to Fedez’s concerts. It’s not a great compliment, but the rapper comments on it with the enthusiasm with which you scroll through Tik Tok videos when you’re bored: I had shingles when this thing happened, so I was busy with more important things for the my health… I don’t think there is any need to go into it, let’s just go further. So no tension. I found myself a Fedez, after 9 years, very mature and very professional. There are some things that I really like about him, I see him as a point of reference in television professionalism.
Fedez summarizes: The rivalry is there exactly like it is between everyone else: what will happen during the live shows (where, they assure, Francesca Michielin will also return to the stage, currently convalescing, ed.) cannot be predicted.
You can’t predict, true, but if you can make predictions you can bet on Morgan’s role in this edition. Ambra Angiolini, in a clip that shows what will be seen on the air, says that she doesn’t want him to belittle her words. I don’t speak as a woman but as a thinking being – she points out -. We often argued with Morgan about moments of egocentrism. I no longer feel fragile: of course, if I feel threatened I defend myself. We got very excited during the auditions. But, once again, nothing was broken: We had a tough discussion, perhaps, but I didn’t regret it, I think it’s an important sign. Beyond the music, messages are sent out and I would like mine to be the search for diversity. I don’t want people who are attentive to what works but who, a bit like it was for me as a child, throw themselves in without knowing where they will end up. The change of line in the choice of singers will be evident, everyone agrees.
I always look for songs that strike me – explains Dargen D’Amico, as usual with glasses on and a joke always ready -. I still like to get excited about a song. And the songs will be different than usual. There is clearly a different search for projects, which for us involves more in-depth work that has never been done before, confirms Fedez. But Morgan’s outsider soul adds spice and metaphysics: In television you make television, music is somewhere else. Sometimes it can coincide.
