The Wydad of Casablanca finds the path of training

While the FRMF announced the resumption of Botola on July 25, the Wydad of Casablanca has already started its preparation period in order to compete for its title.

The Wydad of Casablanca has returned to training, after several months of stoppage following the spread of the coronavirus.

The Reds are thus preparing their resumption of the Moroccan championship before setting course for the “Final Four” of the CAF Champions League during which they will face Al Ahly in the semi-final.

For the good progress of the recovery, the WAC ensures compliance with the protocol defined by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), inspired by the health guidelines set by the public authorities.

Thus, as a precaution, the training sessions take place behind closed doors at the Mohammed Benjelloun complex. The Red and White management has mobilized appropriate means to guarantee the players the conditions conducive to optimal physical and mental preparation.

Indeed, all the members of the club and its entourage underwent screening tests, which turned out to be negative. For ten days, training, authorized from June 25, is carried out in small groups of 5 with a maximum of 10 players on the field. At the end of this period, the team may resume group sessions for 20 days.

“The decision to resume the championship, which will have a positive impact on the level of competitiveness of the Moroccan teams still involved in Arab and African competitions”, Wydad spokesman Mohamed Talal told MAP.

“The Wydad adhered with responsibility to the health protocol of the FRMF and the club management carried out a vast sterilization operation of the Mohamed Benjelloun sports complex and the team’s means of transport, alongside the acquisition of a decontamination tunnel, in partnership with a leading company in technological equipment ”, he added.

The training sessions are attended by the majority of WAC players, including midfielder Salaheddine Saidi and defender Achraf Dari, who are recovering from serious injuries. However, Soufiane Karkach, stranded in Belgium, could not join his club.

The Wydad of Casablanca temporarily occupies the head of the championship with 36 points, but counts 2 late matches accumulated following its engagement in the Champions League.

According to the dates announced by the FRMF, the update games will be played between July 24 and August 8, while the rest of the championship will take place in August 12 and September 13.
