American writer Anne Rice died on Sunday. The author of the novel Interview with a Vampire was 80 years old. She succumbed to complications after a stroke.
Anne Rice, author of one of the best-selling novels of all time, died on Sunday. Her son Christopher informed about the death on Facebook.
“This is Anna’s son Chritopher, it breaks my heart that I have to bring you this message. Anne died last night from complications after a stroke,” her son said on the author’s Facebook page. “The intensity of our family’s grief is enormous,” he added.

The 80-year-old writer has written several novels. She devoted herself to fantasy, erotic and horror literature. Her most famous novel is Interview with a Vampire, which she wrote at the beginning of her career in 1976.
Rice was a widow. Her husband was the poet Stan Rice, who died in 2002. They had two children together.
