Australian farmer Mick Meiners, when he first saw a large black object sticking out in the middle of a field, at first thought it was a withered dead tree. However, it turned out that this is part of the SpaceX space capsule.

Later, two more fragments of the same capsule were found nearby.

Experts called the find “rare” because mostly space debris ends up in the oceans.

“It was very exciting to see all this up close, I have never seen a piece of space debris fall like that,” said Australian National University astrophysicist Brad Tucker, who was called to investigate the debris and posted a photo of them on social media.

The Australian Space Agency has asked anyone who sees such items to call a hotline set up by SpaceX.

Recall that as a result of a collision with an unknown space rocket a new double crater formed on the surface of the moon.
