“Tenet is a film whose image and sound you really have to enjoy in your cinemas on the big screen,” Nolan said of his latest picture. However, Youtuber Bob Wulff decided to go the exact opposite way and watch the film on the least expected device. The result is Tenet on the Game Boy Advance pocket game console. He described the whole procedure in a video he published on his WulffDen channel. The author himself admits that he goes “Quite Probably the Worst Way to Track Tenet”. The aim of the video, however, was more to entertain its viewers and show the possibilities of older devices, which may still lie in a drawer.
Wulff claims that 30 minutes is the longest footage to fit on a Game Boy Advance cartridge, so that the video is still in “watchable” quality. Because Tenet is 150 minutes long, the entire image could barely fit on five cartridges. Because of this, however, he had to reduce the resolution to 192 x 128, the frame rate to 6 frames / s, and the bitrate to 8 KB / s. Youtuber even brought his idea to such perfection that he created labels for film cartridges in a graphics program.
Nintendo offered Game Boy Advance Video cartridges for its portable Game Boy Advance console, on which mainly episodes of the Pokémon or Spongebob series in pants were distributed. However, there have also been several feature films such as Shrek and The Shark Tale,
