The worst free kick and the worst attitude in Cristiano Ronaldo’s career

By Enrique Gomez

Al-Nassr’s defeat in the Super Cup brought out the worst in CR7

Cristiano Ronaldo’s haters devoured this morning. The Portuguese star not only launched the worst free kick of his career, but also immortalized his worst attitude on a playing field.

And the most unforgivable of all: touched the Super Cup that was at stake and activated the ‘curse’.

As if losing another title with the Al-Nassr team (a 4-1 defeat against the Al-Hilal club) wasn’t painful enough, CR7 had a couple of regrettable actions on the field of the Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Sports City stadium: an incredible mistake on a set piece and a satirical complaint to his teammates.

1. The worst free throw of his career:
CR7 was in charge of taking the first free kick of the match, but his ball did not even go in the goal. His idea was for the ball to take a curve and go towards the goal, but he lacked ‘chalk’ and the ball flew in a straight line to greet the fans present.

2. The worst attitude towards his team
In less than 15 minutes during the second half (55′ to 69′), Al-Nassr conceded three goals and after the last of this rally, the veteran made humiliating gestures to his teammates, first taking a nap (the defense asleep) and then, defecating (his teammates terrified).

The first ‘show’ caused mockery among haters, some even questioned whether the 39-year-old star should continue playing (of course, all this before he scored the goal that put his club ahead), but the second caused indignation and several accused the footballer of being a bad teammate and not knowing how to handle his frustration.

Al-Hilal won the Saudi Arabian Super Cup and the superstitious will say that everything was ruined since Cristiano Ronaldo dropped the trophy on the pitch and unleashed the oldest and most effective curse in football: whoever touches the trophy, loses it.
