The town of Lázně Bohdaneč, with a population of 3,000, lies between the villages of Stéblová, Rybitví and Živanice in Eastern Bohemia. A quarter of a century ago, it was one of the smallest villages where the highest football competition was played in the Czech Republic. The success of Drnovice, who lasted in the league for ten long years, but did not repeat it. The club, supported by local businessman Jiří Novák, played the first league in just one year – and with just 11 points, it became by far the worst team in the history of the Czech top football competition.
