The world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, in Dubai, shone in the colors of the Czech flag

On the occasion of today’s 102nd anniversary of the establishment of an independent Czechoslovak state, the world’s tallest skyscraper, the Burj Khalifa, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, shone in the colors of the Czech flag.

“We lit up the night Buddh Khalifa to celebrate the national holiday of the Czech Republic, we wish prosperity and growth,” reads the Twitter account of the skyscraper.

The almost 830 meter high building in 2017 was covered by, for example, a projection of the British flag in memory of the victims of the terrorist attack in Manchester or two days ago the color of Austria, which commemorated the confirmation of its neutrality from 1955.

With the words “we are with you”, the tricolor of this southern European country appeared on the Dubai landmark as an expression of solidarity with Italy during this year’s spring wave of covid-19.

The tower has 189 floors, was opened in 2010. There are offices, luxury apartments, a hotel or a shopping center. The developer of the project was the company Emaar Properties. The elevators in the building were installed by the Czech company Pega Hoist.

The observation terrace called At The Top is on the 124th floor, ordinary visitors cannot get higher.
