The oldest person of the year told his secret of longevity, writes in “Independent”. Liverpool’s John Tinniswood celebrated his 112th birthday on August 26, 2024. In April, he officially entered the Guinness Book of World Records as the oldest living person. “Honestly, I don’t feel any different. And I don’t feel that age. It doesn’t concern me. That’s probably why I lived to such an age,” Tinniswood shared his feelings on receiving the title.
Born the year the Titanic sank, the man also added that he doesn’t know what exactly accounts for his longevity. “I can’t remember any special secrets. In my youth I was quite active and walked a lot. Whether that has anything to do with it, I don’t know. But for myself I am no different from others. I am no different,” noted the long-timer. After all, Tinniswood credits luck as the secret to his longevity.
He says he doesn’t have any strict dietary rules, apart from eating fish and chips every Friday
It was previously reported that the world’s oldest woman has died at the age of 117. She lived in Spain and had the status of the oldest living person, reports BGNES.
