The Office of the President announced that Jeollanam-do and Ulsan Metropolitan City are being reviewed as candidates for the VESTAS production plant in Denmark, the world’s No. 1 wind turbine maker.
A high-ranking official from the presidential office met with reporters in Zurich, Switzerland on the 19th (local time) and was asked a related question.
On the 18th, Vestas CEO Henrik Anersen reported a plan to invest $300 million (about 370 billion won) to Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Lee Chang-yang, and decided to relocate the Asia-Pacific regional headquarters from Singapore to Korea. He also submitted a plan to establish a large-scale turbine parts production plant and supply it to the Asia-Pacific region. However, this official did not mention the candidate location for Vestas’ Asia-Pacific regional headquarters.
