Dinosaur which is named Supersaurus this, due to its superhuman body, is probably the longest dinosaur in the world ever discovered to date. He, among others, his habitat in the United States in hundreds of millions of years ago.
As quoted detikINET from USA Today, Supersaurus according to recent research presented at the annual science event of the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology is estimated to be between 39 meters and 42 meters long.
That is, the size of this Supersaurus is indeed very super, roughly equivalent to a Boeing 737 plane or a whale. Or imagine a 13-story building placed horizontally, estimated to be the size of the dinosaur.
However, this Supersaurus was not a predator so that other dinosaurs did not have to worry about its presence in its time. Scientists concluded that they are herbivorous species aka plant eaters, not carnivores.
They lived from the early Cretaceous to 142 million years ago, according to research from the Natural History Museum. Even compared to the dinosaur in its day, Supersaurus would have looked very jumbo at that size.
However, it is possible that in the future other dinosaurs will be found that are even longer than Supersaurus. This is because dinosaur bone fossils are usually found in the form of fragments, so not all of the bones are intact and in addition, other fossils may still be found.
Supersaurus fossils themselves have actually been found long ago, namely in 1973 in Colorado. The fossils were so stacked that at first scientists thought the bones belonged to 3 separate dinosaurs. But later it was discovered that the bone came from dinosaur single.
