Kuwait is struggling to remove the world’s largest tire cemetery, which scientists say could pose environmental and health hazards, the Anatolian Agency reported.
Located five kilometers south of the city of Jahra, the cemetery contains 50 million tires, according to Kuwaiti activist Abdullah Al-Bunyan.
Discarded tires that are about to be relocated have accumulated there over the past two decades. New factories for cutting and recycling of these tires are to be built in the country.
