Every electronic device like smartphone, laptop, and others, emit certain amounts of electromagnetic wave radiation. Exposure to radiation is actually safe for humans as long as it is within normal limits.
The United States Federal Communications Commission sets maximum limits on radiation levels (Specific Absorption Ratios or SAR) of 1.6 Watts per kilogram. SAR itself measures how quickly the body can absorb it radiofrequency electromagnetic fields (RF-EMF) from electronic devices.
Even so, in fact there are several smartphone in a world with quite high radiation exposure, as reported by a study by the German Federal Office for Radiation compiled through Bankless Times.
Smartphone with the highest radiation in the world in 2023 falls to the Motorola Edge, with a SAR level of 1.79 Watts per kilogram, far exceeding the normal limits that have been set.
ZTE Axon 11 5G is in second place with a SAR value of 1.59 Watts per kilogram. Closely following in third place is the OnePlus 6T with a SAR level of 1.55 Watts per kilogram.
One of the HP brands that is quite familiar to Indonesian people, Oppo Reno 5G, is in seventh position smartphone with the highest radiation with a SAR level of 1.37 Watts per kilogram.
