Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu received his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shukri in Ankara. After the meetings, the ministers spoke at a press conference.

“Undoubtedly, we have cooperation in energy. Turkey is one of the countries that import the most LNG (liquefied natural gas) from Egypt. They have investments here,” Cavusoglu said.

“We want cooperation to expand in all areas, especially in the field of energy, as well as in the field of renewable energy sources. There is potential for expanding cooperation in this area,” said the Turkish minister.

Çavuşoğlu also emphasized the importance of bilateral relations and the need to develop cooperation between Turkey and Egypt.

“From now on, we will work more closely on the issue of Libya. In fact, during our meeting today, we think that our views do not differ fundamentally, but we may think differently about some methods,” Çavuşoğlu said.

“We need to work together on a roadmap and continue to work together in the process ahead,” he said.

The head of the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, in turn, noted that relations between Turkey and Egypt are developing rapidly.

“I want this development to continue. We will set some goals. In accordance with the results of the set goals, greater mutual understanding will be achieved. We will discuss what steps to take next,” the Egyptian minister said.

“At the same time, we discussed the issue of announcing an increase in diplomatic relations. In parallel, a summit meeting will be prepared – at the level of the presidents. We have been working on this issue for a long time. However, in recent months, this process has begun to move with a new force, becoming more and more active,” Shukri said.

A major investment by the Russian oil company Tatneft in Turkey

The first ship with unmanned aerial vehicles is ready for the mission

The world’s first ship built for armed unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), also Turkey’s largest warship, the TCG Anadolu has entered service with the country’s navy, according to CNN Türk.

The ship was handed over to the Turkish Navy Command by the Presidency’s Ministry of Defense Industry in a ceremony attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The Turkish President stated that TCG Anadolu will be opened to the public at Sirkeci Port.

“With TCG Anadolu, we will be the leading country with such a game-changing ship. In addition, we plan to increase the budget of the defense industry to 75 billion dollars, including thanks to projects that are already at the stage of organizing tenders. The increased budget for the defense industry will also pave the way for new initiatives in all areas,” he said.

Turkey launched its İMECE surveillance satellite

Turkish TV channel NTV Haber reported that Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank spoke at the launch of the İMECE satellite, which is an important milestone in Turkey’s space exploration. Varank said the satellite will soon be sent into orbit.

“With the help of our first local and national high-resolution observation satellite İMECE, we will be able to receive images from all over the world,” Varank noted, adding that the need for human resources with different and new competencies is growing every day.

“In this sense, cooperation between the private sector and universities is becoming increasingly important. We have established the National Technology Academy to train the human resources that will lead Turkey to the goals of a national technological breakthrough,” he stated.

“We organized open lectures, competitions, publications and programs under the auspices of the academy, a digital learning platform,” the minister said.

Turkish Foreign Minister Cavusoglu is visiting Austria

According to the television channel NTV Haber, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu met with his Austrian counterpart Alexander Schallenberg during his visit to Vienna.

Natural gas produced in the Black Sea will be in homes in May

The online publication Aktif Haber reported that the CEO of the Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) Melih Khan Bilgin stated that all tests for pumping natural gas produced in the Black Sea have been completed.

According to him, the Black Sea gas will be fully delivered to Turkey’s main gas supply system at the beginning of May.

“At the beginning of May, the gas will be fully delivered to the system and by 2028 we will reach 60 million cubic meters,” he said.

“When the Black Sea gas enters the system, it will cover 15% of the country’s needs. Initially, when the gas is released, it will cover its own investment costs for one year,” said Bilgin, director general of TPAO.

The new sanctions will enter into force on April 17. The reason for the application of the sanctions is explained by the wording “an attempt to acquire products of American origin in support of the Russian armed forces and/or the military-industrial complex and ultimately an attempt to circumvent the sanctions measures”.
