The world’s first hydrogen-powered electric bike has been unveiled

The innovative Alpha Neo electric bike was the first in the world to receive hydrogen fuel cells instead of a battery.

In an effort to make a positive impact on climate change, French company Pragma Mobility has unveiled a new generation of hydrogen-powered Alpha Neo bicycles.

Note that, having received hydrogen fuel cells instead of a battery, the electric bike refuels in just 2 minutes and accelerates to 25km / h.

An electric motor with a power of 350 W (0.5 hp) was placed on the rear wheel of the bicycle. Instead of a battery, a removable fuel cell block is provided. They generate electricity by reacting hydrogen.

The hydrogen is stored in a miniature removable cylinder at a pressure of 300 bar. It is enough for 150 km run. The developers promise that the installation will last 15 years.

It should also be noted that the electric bike is equipped with disc brakes, LED optics and a digital instrument panel. Fuel cells are also much lighter than battery cells, which is why the Alpha Neo with aluminum frame weighs just 30kg.

The electric bike will begin production from June 2023. 1000 Alpha Neos are expected to be released in the first six months. The cost of the electric bike will be 5640 euros, the bike will be offered for leasing at 79 euros per month.

As reported by Cursor, the fine for riding an electric bike without a helmet will increase to 1,000 shekels. In particular, the Knesset Economic Committee approved penalties for offenses related to the use of bicycles, electric scooters, segways and hubbards, including a fine of 1,000 shekels for drivers under the age of 16, 1,000 shekels for driving without helmet.

Also, it has been found that drivers over the age of 16 who drive without proper training are subject to a fine of 750 shekels.

Takee Cursor informed that an agreement was signed on November 30 between the Sharon district authorities and representatives of the Ministry of Transportation and Netivey Israel. This deal is about development of public transport and cycle paths for citizens.
