The World’s Best Goalkeeper Won’t Go There

Former Italy star Antonio Cassano criticizes Gianluigi Donnarumma for joining Paris St. Germain. For him, Donnarumma is not the best goalkeeper in the world at the moment.

The 22-year-old footballer began to be aligned with the world’s elite goalkeepers after playing an important role in Italy’s success in winning the 2020 European Cup. Throughout the tournament Donnarumma conceded only four goals in seven matches and saved England’s last penalty kick in the final.

Now Donnarumma immediately shifted focus in his career at club level. Donnarumma left AC Milan after completing his contract and will join PSG.

At his new club, Gianluigi Donnarumma believed to have agreed a five-year contract for a fee of 12 million euros a year.

Cassano has strengthened top teams like Real Madrid, AC Milan and Inter Milan while still actively playing. Cassano believes that Donnarumma should join traditional European giants.

“[Manuel] Neuer is 36 years old, if he’s the best goalkeeper in the world right now then grab a spot [Thibaut] Courtois, dan [Marc-Andre] Ter Stegen and get rid of them. But he joined PSG instead.”

After celebrating the Italian champions party, Donnarumma has now arrived at the Parc des Prince, and will soon be announced as a new player PSG.
