The jury of the Prix Versailles announced during an event at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris (XV) on December 19, 2022, the global winners of the Prix Versailles 2022. The official announcement was the occasion for the philosopher Gilles Lipovetsky (president of the jury) to review the excellence of the finalist projects.
At the crossroads of different disciplines, the world jury of the Versailles Prize has once again the honor of highlighting the best of contemporary architecture. Chaired this year by philosopher Gilles Lipovetsky (France), it brought together architects Thom Mayne (United States), Lu Wenyu (China) and Thomas Vonier (United States); designer Jasper Morrison (United Kingdom), disc jockey Charlotte de Witte (Belgium), filmmaker Mahamat-Saleh Haroun (France – Chad) and Himalayan Samina Baig (Pakistan).
In total, among the 94 creations from the global selections (Airports, Campuses, Stations and Stations, Sports categories) or awarded at continental level (Stores, Shopping Malls, Hotels, Restaurants categories), 24 are distinguished as so many global winners of the Prize. Versailles 2022.
This award, which pays tribute to innovation, creativity, the echo of local heritage, ecological performance, and the values of conviviality and participation to which the United Nations is attached, is part of the principles of sustainable intelligent – taking into account ecological, social and cultural impacts.
