The world leader in the supply of liquefied gas has changed

Last year, the LNG market amounted to almost 383 million tons

Australia took the first place in the export of LNG, Qatar dropped to second place. USA – the third.

At the end of 2021, Australia came out on top in the supply of liquefied gas, bypassing Qatar, according to data from Kpler.

For the year, Australia exported 80.23 million tons against 77.63 million tons in 2020.

At the same time, Qatar exported 77.83 million tons, up from 77.88 million tons a year earlier.

The United States is in third place with 70.43 million tons of exports against 47.35 million tons in the previous year.

In total, the top three delivered 60% of the world’s total LNG exports in 2021, estimated at 382.7 million tonnes. In 2020, the total volume of LNG exports amounted to 362.96 million tons.

Most of the LNG from the three leaders was purchased by the countries of Asia – 173.39 million tons, or 76% of the total volume, followed by Europe – 40.91 million tons (18%), and South America – 13.98 million tons (about 6% ).
