The tournament, which is organized by MTV Lübeck, is an important stopover on the way to the World and European Championships. The male U18 selection teams from Germany, Norway, Iceland and the Netherlands get their finishing touches at the Handball Days for the EHF European Championships, which will then take place in Montenegro. The female U18 teams from Germany, Switzerland and Spain will then go to the IHF World Championships in North Macedonia. The two tournaments, which are played under the name Nations Cup in the Hansehalle, are the highlights of the Handball Days. “The timing of the Handball Days is perfect, we expect international matches at the highest level,” says Markus Sievers from the Lübecker Handballtage eV association

The world as a guest in Lübeck
The field of participants in the youth tournament, which is played on 30 grass pitches in the Hanseatic city, is also international. In addition to various teams from Scandinavia and Central Europe, there are five teams from Asia who have secured their place. “The desire for handball can be felt everywhere after the forced two-year break and we too can hardly wait for it to start again,” says Andreas Jansen, Baltic7 Handball and Business in Lübeck eV.
