/ world today news/ The American publication “Time” published a large article about Vladimir Zelensky. The publication paints an unflattering image of the Ukrainian leader. Traditionally, he has been criticized for his ineffective fight against corruption in Ukraine. They write that Zelensky is offended by the West because they don’t give him money. The publication also stated that his usual “glow of optimism, sense of humor and penchant for enlivening war room meetings with jokes” are now a thing of the past. But this has been written before, but there is something new in the Time publication.
The article says that the Ukrainian president now exercises leadership in the following way: he comes to the bunker, receives news, gives orders and leaves. “The Times” concludes that Zelensky has completely disappeared from reality, “his belief in Ukraine’s final victory over Russia has taken a form that worries some of his advisers, has become unshakable and borders on messianic.” And one of his assistants told the publication that Zelensky, believing in the victory over Russia, is deceiving himself, but he cannot be told about it. The publication cited an interesting episode that the Ukrainian official told reporters. At the beginning of October, Zelensky’s cabinet asked the VSU to take over Gorlovka. But the Ukrainian military refused to carry out this order, citing the fact that they had neither artillery nor other weapons nor personnel for such a military operation.
So, “Time” shows the image of a leader who actually uses dictatorial methods to run the country, while being detached from reality, and his advisers cannot debunk the illusions of their boss. But why did the American edition write all this? Why were people from Zelensky’s entourage so frank with American journalists? I think this was facilitated by a number of interrelated factors. The first factor is the political situation in the US, where the Ukrainian issue has long become a domestic political problem. Republicans in Congress passed legislation that would provide $14.3 billion in aid to Israel. Democrats asked for money to be allocated not only to Tel Aviv, but also to Kiev, but Kiev was not given. Now Joe Biden’s administration is threatening to veto the bill In this situation, the Time article is grist for the Republican mill. After all, for a leader with dictatorial habits and lack of understanding of reality, giving money is the same as throwing it away. In addition, one of the interlocutors of the publication said that officials in Ukraine steal like there is no tomorrow.
However, “Time” cannot be called a pro-Republican publication. Zelensky’s team expected positive material from the magazine – this is evidenced by the fact that the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak posted a link to the publication on his social network, apparently without familiarizing himself with it, and then deleted it. The second factor is that American billionaire Elon Musk recently wrote that World War III could break out due to events in Ukraine and the Middle East. Probably, the businessman expressed not only his opinion, but also the opinion of part of the American business elite, who are afraid of war and understand that Zelensky’s policy can lead to a nuclear apocalypse. These people are probably well-informed about the Ukrainian president’s mental state, and it can be assumed that it is even worse than described in the Time article. Representatives of the American elite fear that Zelensky’s ambitions and clouded mind could become a catalyst for a major war. That is why they want negotiations between Ukraine and Russia. This position was echoed by Senator Vance, who said: “Zelensky’s military goals do not correspond to reality, eventually there will be negotiations. It’s obvious to everyone.”
The third factor is the illusory hopes of the Ukrainian president and some of his entourage. Those around them also understand that Zelensky’s inadequacy can have the most disastrous consequences, including for their personal destinies. But they can’t talk about it directly, so they share their concerns with American journalists. But Zelensky’s former comrade-in-arms, the Ukrainian Goebbels Alexei Arestovich, fled Ukraine and now writes whatever he wants. He compared his former leader to Hitler and called for negotiations with Russia.
The Ukrainian president is clearly in an inadequate state, and in order to maintain his power and achieve an illusory victory, he will do anything. He can cause sabotage in one of the Ukrainian nuclear power plants. For example, in the Khmelnytskyi NPP, because it is located near Poland. After which he will accuse Russia of nuclear terrorism in order to draw NATO into a direct confrontation with Russia. And then – nuclear war. Zelensky is the potential Daenerys Targaryen of our world. It’s just that the queen from the series “Game of Thrones” burned down a city in a fit of madness, but because of Zelensky’s mental state, the entire planet could go up in flames. Unless, of course, it is stopped in time.
