The World Health Organization (WHO) says Kovid-19 deaths are on the rise in Africa

In January, deaths from infectious diseases increased by forty percent.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has expressed concern over the rising number of Kovid-19-related deaths in Africa, where the virus is spreading rapidly. In January, the number of deaths due to infectious diseases increased by 40 percent, according to the World Health Organization’s Regional Director for Africa, Matsidiso Moiti. The increase in deaths is attributed to the spread of the second phase of the epidemic and the rapid spread of genetically modified corona virus variants that have disrupted health systems in Africa.

“The rise in Kovid-19 deaths is worrying,” Modi said in Nairobi. Modi also hinted that the number of Kovid deaths in Africa could cross one lakh by Sunday. “Everyone’s focus should be on keeping the virus at bay,” he said, adding that the spread of new strains and lower vaccination rates could take longer to stem the tide of Africa’s epidemic.

The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that 22,300 people have died in Africa in the past 28 days in connection with Kovid-19. In the previous 28 days, the death toll was 16,000. The death toll rose by about 3.7 percent during the period. This is above the global average.

In the last 28 days, the death toll has risen in 32 countries in Africa. At the same time, mortality rates have dropped in 21 countries. The second phase of Kovid outbreaks, which began last October, peaked in January, leading to an increase in deaths. A World Health Organization survey of 21 countries in Africa found that 66 percent of countries do not have adequate critical care facilities and 24 percent of countries lack health care. This has also led to an increase in the death toll, Modi said. In 15 countries there is a lack of critical oxygen availability to save critically ill Kovid-19 patients from death.

The new Kovid-19 variant, first discovered in South Africa, has now spread to eight African countries. Modi also observed that the spread of the disease and the death rate could be improved only if vaccines were made available as soon as possible. “The world is looking for a vaccine that protects against all variants of Kovid – 19, but the current need is to prevent serious Kovid – 19 cases from filling hospitals,” Modi said. According to Modi, many lives could be saved if the disease did not become serious and spread.
