The World Health Organization shares its concerns about the evolution of Covid-19

For four months, the date of the appearance of the Covid-19 pandemic, the virus has spread at high speed across countries around the world.

Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization, expressed concern over the alarming development of the pandemic on Wednesday.

“I am deeply concerned about the rapid escalation and global spread of the infection. The number of deaths has more than doubled in the past week. In the next few days, we will reach 1 million confirmed cases and 50,000 deaths ”

The director of the international organization appealed to governments to put in place social protection measures to enable vulnerable people to have access to essential resources for living.

Dr Michael Ryan, Executive Director, WHO Health Emergency Management Program added:

“It is really very important that all countries take things seriously, prepare, prepare the health system, strengthen the public health architecture, engage, educate communities and put communities at the border and … leave no one behind … This is advice we give to all countries. “

Knowing that developing countries are likely to have difficulty implementing this type of social program,

WHO, the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund have jointly appealed for debt relief for these countries so that they can take care of their people.

More than 900,000 people worldwide are infected with the Coronavirus.

The Covid-19 did pread more than 46,000 deaths internationally.

The United States passes Italy and China with more than 200,000 people infected and 4,700 dead.
