Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Rós will perform again in Prague after 14 years. The famous melancholy and experimenters, whose emotionally charged concerts leave fans with strong experiences and feelings of melancholy, will perform on October 9, 2022 in the O2 Universe in Prague.
Icelandic music legends will play in Prague in the composition of Jón Þór “Jónsi” Birgisson (vocals and guitar), Georg “Goggi” Holm (bass) and Kjartan “Kjarri” Sveinsson (keyboards). The last of the musicians returns to the band after almost ten years.
Lovers of the band can expect a show full of effects and original music with a melancholy melody enriched by post-rock. The band itself prefers the slo-mo rock label. Already their debut album called Von in 1997 is a unique experimental work.
Video clips are also an integral part of Sigur Rós’ work. The band became famous for music videos with an original artistic sound. They won an MTV award in 2003 for one of their video clips directed by Italian director Floria Sigismondi.
The band is currently working on a new studio album to follow up on the fantastic recordings of Valtari and Kveikur. In addition to their selection from their 25-year discography, the concert will also feature brand new tracks.

The first time the band visited Bohemia in 2001, they performed at the Akropolis Palace in Žižkov. 14 years ago, the Sigur Rós shook Prague’s Holešovices with their melody and pleased Prague with their mysterious tones. The band started this year’s tour in America and will soon be performing at the O2 Universe in Prague, where they will certainly leave an equally strong impression. It is still possible to buy a ticket for the Prague concert on 9 October 2022 in the Ticketmaster network.
