At a meeting in Baku, the World Motor Sports Council approved the proposed amendments to the technical and sports regulations of Formula 1. We wrote about many of them.
The regulations will be published later, but the key changes are:
– teams will install devices to cool the rider in extreme heat;
– the number and weight of metal parts of the bottom, which can pose a danger if disconnected from the machine in an accident, are limited;
– the time spent working with cars in the pit lane before the start has been reduced from 50 to 40 minutes;
– for the first time, work with cars starting from the pit lane is regulated. For safety reasons, teams will be required to remove all personnel and equipment 90 seconds after the start of the warm-up lap.
In addition, changes to the sports, technical and financial regulations for the 2026 season were approved.
