The world champions are coming to Prague. Defender Germán Pezzella (32) is Betis’ captain, midfielder Guido Rodríguez (29) appeared to be the man of the match on Sunday as Betis beat Las Palmas 1-0.
“They have a hard time in the Argentine national team in a huge competition. However, both are very experienced, they are no longer hares,” says Filip Zíka.
The player agent from the Global Sports agency was born in Buenos Aires in 1991, he will soon be 33 years old. At that time, his father Pavel represented Strojimport, Strojexport in Argentina, he took care not only of the trade in machines, but also of the visits of Czech politicians, for example Václav Klaus. That’s why the whole family was thrilled last year when Messi’s team fulfilled their golden dream.

Germán Pezzella and Guido Rodríguez, world champions with Argentina, grace the Betis Sevilla Hall of Fame.
“Rodríguez played in Qatar only once, Pezzella three times. In the final with France, he started four minutes before the end of extra time. He deserves the title, not just anyone goes on the pitch at a moment like this. You need an experienced fighter there,” the agent points out.
“I am very much looking forward to Thursday’s match, not only because of the two Argentinians. Betis is an interesting team overall. Although Sparta is playing very well now, it will be difficult at home as well. I will support her, like all Czech clubs in cups. However, I am afraid that if Betis wins, they will probably also win in Prague,” Filip Zíka suspects.
Pezzella is a native of River Plate, who is supported by the Zika managerial dynasty. “I like teams with a significant role of young players. That’s what Boca is better at now. River produces a lot of talent in its academy, but gives more experience to the first team, so youngsters have a more difficult transition to adults. Pezzela transferred to Betis in 2015, and after two years he bounced back to Fiorentina for four seasons before returning,” explains Filip.

At the beginning of October, Sparta led in Seville and played a great first half. In the end, however, she lost 1:2. It was Rodríguez who set up Isco for the decisive goal with a millimeter-precise cross.
“Guido headed to Europe via Mexico, where he played for both Tijuana and America. In Europe we are quite self-absorbed, but Mexico in particular is a very attractive destination right now. Clubs there offer conditions like in La Liga, so players don’t have much reason to go to cold Europe. Third world countries do not wrinkle with some financial restrictions, they pour money into football in a big way. In Mexico for sure,” adds Zíka interestingly.
Betis is the leader of Group C, Sparta is three points behind the second Rangers. If they want to keep their hopes of staying in the Europa League this spring also before the final match in Limassol, Betis need to beat…
