This was stated by the deputy chairman of the PG of BSP LEFT BULGARIA Atanas Merdzhanov in the program “More from the day” on BNT. He recalled that already upon her appointment, the BSP warned that the political responsibility for the state of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and security in the country rests with Prime Minister Boyko Borisov. “What’s going on though? A film critical of the State Agency for Refugees is released and its head is immediately dismissed, while the Prime Minister remains in his post”, said the People’s Representative. According to him, there is information that the policemen are again on strike. “They want security, stable incomes, predictable behavior of the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which, however, is not there”, added Merdzhanov and described the Law on NSO as the “biggest misunderstanding”.

Atanas Merdzhanov also commented on the possible assistance of our army in guarding the border with Turkey. “In the conditions in which we find ourselves, it is obvious that the resources of the army must be resorted to. But due to unconvincing actions of the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Minister of Defense, I doubt that there will be any effectiveness from this interaction. Today it also became clear that the military would be without weapons, as the commander of our ground forces, Gen. Andrey Botsev. The fact that we ask ourselves such questions speaks of the lack of synchronicity in actions in a particularly sensitive place such as our border with Turkey”, explained the vice-chairman of the PG of the Left.

Merdzhanov also commented on the proposals to return military training, stating that these are panic statements and a lack of a sufficiently serious vision. According to him, there are no young people in Bulgaria to hire working companies, let alone young people for military training.

BSP demanded that the whole truth about KTB should come out

On the subject of KTB, Atanas Merdzhanov recalled that it was the BSP who insisted that the whole truth come to light already during their meeting with the president. “However, he refused to publish the transcripts of our meeting with him, and even then our hope evaporated that the truth would come to light and the interests of investors in KTB would be protected,” he commented. According to him, the intervention of “Alex Partners” was unnecessary. “It is said that the company was paid about 20 million euros. Many financial experts expressed negative opinions regarding the performance of this corporation. Obviously, there is a redistribution of business and the state authorities missed the opportunity to name those interested in the bankruptcy of the bank”, Merdzhanov also said and emphasized that even then the left was extremely clear in its position, namely all the members of the BNB Board of Directors are responsible for what happened in KTB and they should not have a place in this council.
