In 2019, during the first phase in front of the Lycée Mme-de-Staël, the workers had indeed fallen on a concrete slab one meter wide, while the plans indicated fifty centimeters. “We took another month,” recalls the elected official. There, about forty meters in length, the entire structure had been reinforced, then covered again. This is not the option chosen by the municipality for phases 2 and 3 of the operation.

The stream will not be covered
In front of the private Tweed Music school, the existing slab, which had been built in 1937, has been demolished. It will of course be necessary to move the networks, then reinforce the walls and the supports, where the cracks made fear the worst. But the stream will remain in the open. It will regain its original appearance. A landscaping will be carried out.
This is also what will be done from July 2022, in front of the neighboring Anatole-France primary school. “We will have to relocate the establishment for a few months,” says Pierre Laroche. Manuela De Castro Alves, deputy in charge of children, school affairs, youth and citizenship, has the file in hand.
Parents and teaching staff warned
The teaching team and the parents of the students have already been notified. “We do it a bit in advance to find the best solution. »The one which« disturbs as little as possible »the little ones. What is decided: the parents will drive their children to Anatole-France, where a bus will transport them to the substitute establishment.
What is not decided: the substitute establishment. “We are prospecting around Anatole-France and we are expanding the search. »The site must be large enough to accommodate a hundred students. There is no question of separating the five classes.
From 2019 to 2022. The total length of the slab concerned is one hundred and fifty meters, between the Mme-de-Staël high school and the Anatole-France school. The overall budget is 878,079 euros including tax.
