Postponed but not canceled. The Women’s Six Nations Tournament will take place, after the boys’ one, from April 3 to 24. The management of the XV de France female has therefore summoned thirty-five players to prepare for this tournament organized in a new two-group formula due to the Covid-19. The French women have been meeting since Monday at the Maison du handball in Créteil, then will go to the National Rugby Center in Marcoussis, from March 29, when the boys of the XV of France will have left.
Around the captain, Gaëlle Hermet, appear in particular the rear, Jessy Trémouliere, elected player of the decade in December, and the winger, Marine Ménager. The latter’s twin sister, the third line Romane Ménager, is not, however, in the group. Three players from Stade Français (Lénaïg Corson, Julie Annery and Coumba Diallo) are also concerned, as well as Emilie Boulard (Chilly-Mazarin) and Madoussou Fall (Bobigny).
Placed in Pool B with Ireland and Wales, the French selection will receive the XV du Poireau in Vannes (Morbihan) on April 3, on the first day. Then, she will travel to Ireland on April 17th. The Blue will play a third and final match, in classification, on April 24 against the team which will be in the same place as the Blue in the other pool, made up of Scotland, Italy and England, double title holder. After the Tournament, a test match is scheduled for April 30 between France and England, in Villeneuve-d’Ascq (North).
