A 35-year-old woman died at the hands of security workers in the shopping center Iso Omena on January 7, 2023. The woman who enjoys herself in shopping centers had already become known to the law enforcement officers of Iso Omena.

All the encounters with the law enforcement officers had been related to the fact that the woman disturbed a man in his forties who was making noise in the shopping center.

The man said that he met the woman for the first time in Iso Omena in August–September 2022. At that time, they only exchanged a few words.

In December, the woman started hanging out with the man more often. There were approximately 7–9 encounters during the three weeks, the man recalled to the police during the preliminary investigation.

The encounters were not prearranged, and the man and woman never exchanged contact information. The man had given the woman the wrong name. The woman had talked about the man with that wrong name to her family members. Family members believed the two were dating.

The man said that the woman hung onto him and followed him around the mall.

The man told the police that he had already considered applying for a restraining order.

The man told the police that the woman followed him to the mall’s library. One of the guards recognized the familiar situation and asked the woman to leave the man alone.

The guard stayed with the woman, and the man left with his friend towards Prisma.

Despite the verbal prohibitions, the woman pursued the man.

The order supervisors said that the woman had not reacted to the calls, but tried to get past the order supervisors. They decided to remove the woman from the mall.

At that point, the woman started to resist. The security workers held the woman for a long time, handcuffed her before transporting her to the detention facilities.
