On Wednesday night, between midnight and one o’clock, a man (54 years old) from the district of St. Veit / Glan fell about three meters onto an embankment on Zeltschacher Straße in Olsa (municipality of Friesach). However, he could not free himself from the situation and remained lying under the embankment.
In the morning, around 8:00, a walker heard cries for help. He immediately alerted the emergency services. Police officers were unable to rescue the man due to the almost vertical embankment. Therefore, the volunteer firefighters of Friesach were informed, who eventually saved the man.
As the 54-year-old said he was not injured in the fall, he did not go to the rescue. The volunteer firefighters from Friesach were deployed with seven people for the rescue.
