The woman died after the bear attack, and at night he was pulled out of the tent by the dormant

American Leah Lokan, who worked as a nurse in California, stopped in Ovando during a cycling trip, where she decided to sleep in a tent, informs BBC.

However, a grizzly bear moved near the camp at night, pulling a 65-year-old sleeping woman out of her tent at night and killing him. Animal rights activists and police officers are currently searching the area, but once they find an animal, they will shoot it for safety.

Together with the American woman, her two friends were on the trip, but they lived in another tent and thus escaped the aggressive attack of the animal only by a hair. “Leah loved life, she had a passion for unusual trips,” one of the friends described the woman.

The city of Ovando is located in a national park near the Canadian border. The park is known for the largest concentration of bears in the United States, but deadly attacks are rare in the region. According to the park rangers, only two similar incidents have occurred there in the last 20 years.
