The Wolf of Wall Street’s Lamborghini Countach to be Auctioned in New York: A Rare and Valuable Find

The Wolf of Wall Street is one of Martin Scorsese’s highest-grossing films. At the global box office, it grossed around $392 million, ranking 17th among films released in 2013.

It didn’t win an Oscar (despite being nominated for five awards) but it’s still hugely popular today, much like the 1989 Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary that shared the screen with Leonardo DiCaprio.

The Countach Bianco Polo over Bianco was the ultimate purchase of Jordan Belfort, the “wolf” of the film. Only 12 copies would have been produced in this specification and on December 8, 2023, one of them will be auctioned in New York! His estimate is between 1.5 million and 2 million dollars, or about 1.4 to 1.8 million euros at the current exchange rate.

Not one but two

In The Wolf of Wall Street, Scorsese used two 25th Anniversary Lamborghini Countachs in similar configurations. For the most memorable scene (a nighttime stroll with an inebriated DiCaprio), one of the two Countachs suffered some realistic damage and remained in the same condition until today. The copy offered for sale in December in New York, chassis KLA12722, however suffered no damage during filming.

The December 8 sale will be held at Sotheby’s World Headquarters in New York during Luxury Week. During the fourth edition of the company’s New York sale, the vanguard of automotive design will be celebrated. Iconic supercars such as this Lamborghini, but also creations from other automotive brands equally admired around the world, will be offered for sale.
