The Woesthoff family packs up and emigrates: ‘On to adventure!’

‘If there ever was and is a moment to consider ourselves, Lucy, kids, myself, it is now’, the singer begins his candid post about the turbulent past year. He writes that unique moments have no longer turned out to be self-evident, that life passes too quickly. He also wonders: what is the lesson of corona? “That nasty COVID-19, which brought so much misery for many and also here at home from time to time, sharpens our obvious things, what is the lesson for us?”

‘What if it ends tomorrow. What if I, what if you … What if tomorrow we really find out that nothing is self-evident in our being together today. And shouldn’t I have understood that lesson for a long time now, such a fantastic, but turbulent life? ‘

“Of course,” he says, but he’s swallowed up in a “haze of run, must, and go” and he wants to break with that rat race. Inspired by many around us, we feel a deep need to break with those habits that supposedly take us further in our lives, but actually take us further away from ourselves with every hasty step. Away from the inner connection, away from what really matters. I don’t want to be that person anymore. ‘ He says they are now going to find out what their path is. ‘That is to say, we’re going to try it anyway. Adventure’s out there! Every day again. 86400 odds long. First chapter: Ibiza, Spain. The Woesthoff family is moving! ‘

His wife also announces the emigration on Instagram. She writes that the couple was inspired by the film The Biggest Little Farm and that is why they are going to set up a farm project in Ibiza. That is to say, they want to become largely self-sufficient. ‘And since we don’t have any experience whatsoever, the process will certainly be entertaining,’ she writes. Our work will of course continue and I am already excited about the impact this move will have on my book and other dreams. But first I’m going to help the children settle down. ‘

After a one-year sabbatical, culminating in six years of deafening silence, Dinand is back on stage last year. RTL Boulevard was there in the Amsterdamse Bostheater and you can see that in the video below.
