Anyone who has followed us a bit over the last few years knows that we are huge fans of The Witcher franchise. The series (except for the last season), the books, the games, we eat it all. Of all this offer is The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in our opinion the best product. The RPG released in 2016 combined an excellent story with strong gameplay and a powerful mythical world. It is Top 5 best RPG ever. No doubt. That’s why it’s good news that there’s now a next-gen update for the game. Free and for nothing. Provided you own the original on PS4 or Xbox One.

The question in this review is not whether the game is good in terms of content. In terms of content, nothing has changed on a content that connects to the Netflix series. This is a slightly exaggerated and a bit smoother edition with some changes in the user interface. Does this create a new experience? Is the world more beautiful that makes you more immersed in the game? And what about the newcomers? Is this, with all the frills, a game that can compete with the best games of the moment? In other words, is it recommended?
Will the “new” version be able to keep up with the best games of the moment?
What definitely plays a role in our judgment is the price. The update is free if you own the original game. If not, you can buy the “old” part for a few dozen. It’s different from remakes that cost the whole pound. How does this gesture from CD Projekt Red feel? Were Huey and JJ involved again, or did it all seem a little old-fashioned?
