The small screen has lost one of its familiar faces. American actor Robert Hogan, who fans of television series have seen in cult fictions Arabesque, The Wire ou New York: Judicial Police, died at the age of 87, announced this Tuesday, June 1, the specialized site Deadline. His family told the press that the comedian died on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at his home on the coast of Maine as a result of pneumonia. Robert Hogan had suffered from Alzheimer’s disease since 2013, but it was ultimately pulmonary complications that prevailed. He leaves behind his wife of 38 years, Mary Hogan, as well as three children from a previous marriage to Shannon Hogan: Chris, Stephen and Jud.
Born in 1933 in Queens, New York, Robert Hogan appeared in more than 150 American series during his impressively long career. And yet, his vocation for comedy is not precocious. After high school, Robert Hogan enlisted in the army and fought for his country in the Korean War. Then, back in the United States, he began studying engineering. It was there that he found his way and decided to try his luck in the artistic world. If he first tried his hand at the theater, it was ultimately on television that he was going to find a place for himself.
