This week the Winter School began at the Municipal Cultural Center, a venue that has a complete range of children’s workshops financed by the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage through the National Fund for Cultural Development 2023. The activities for children and girls (from 5 to 11 years old) began this July 3 and will last until the weekend of July 15 with workshops that are aimed at different disciplines such as Visual Arts, Design, Crafts, Folklore and New Media.
Through a statement issued from the Municipal Cultural Center, its director, Macarena Berríos, pointed out that “this Winter School will receive more than 200 boys and girls, that is, 100 attendees each week. We are happy to be able to have this link with them, where they can and will participate in artistic experiences related to the arts every morning”.
In the same statement, the Seremi of Cultures, Arts and Heritage of the Ñuble Region, Scarlet Hidalgo, expressed: “we are very happy that this activity can be carried out through the National Fund for Cultural Development and the Arts 2023. Likewise, we want to highlight that these activities have a focus on the community, with boys and girls through these artistic expressions”.
The director of the CCMCh also recalled that every weekend the children enrolled in the workshops will be able to carry out pedagogical visits to the town of Quinchamalí as a family, where they will be able to learn directly about the work of the potters who work with black clay. . One of the hostesses of this experience will be the artisan Marcela Rodríguez.
Finally, one of the representatives of the Winter School, Johana Becerra, thanked this instance. “For us it is an opportunity since many parents have to work in these weeks and it is difficult for us to be able to do activities with our children.”
