Jurģis Paplaitis, a member of the competition jury, emphasized that the Peugeot Partner all-wheel drive van prepared by the French company Dangel is in a sense an exclusive model, as it has a 4×4 system with a viscous clutch: “When the front wheels slip wheels. “
“Peugeot Partner 4×4 Dangel” unexpectedly became the biggest surprise for Karolis Šimkus, a member of this year’s “Lithuanian Commercial Vehicle of the Year 2020” competition, and the sales manager of Altas komercinis transportas, the largest Lithuanian commercial vehicle reconstruction and adaptation company. The expert praised the off-road potential of this French car and even began to question the benefits of the pickup truck, as with 205 mm ground clearance and active all-wheel drive, the van becomes a real off-roader.
“Such a van weighs significantly less than any pickup truck and is equipped with special tires. It would be difficult to say unequivocally who drives better in poor road conditions with an extra 300 kilograms in the load compartment,” says a jury member.
According to the members of the competition jury, the car is suitable for companies operating in very specific areas, such as the maintenance of electricity and gas networks, as well as the police or even the army. The car’s closed body allows large non-standard sizes and shapes to be carried, while the all-wheel drive system ensures good handling in poor conditions, while the driver can enjoy all the benefits and conveniences of a car.
“This is no longer one of those old commercial cars that was unattractive because they were designed just for work. The main setting for the creators of these cars was to keep them as low as possible to get as much usable space as possible. Peugeot’s approach is different – “This car is also designed for the driver,” says Šimkus.
The Peugeot Partner 4×4 Dangel is equipped with a 1.5-liter diesel engine. It has a power output of 131 hp and a maximum torque of 300 Nm. The average fuel consumption of the model according to the WLTP (Worldwide Harmonized Passenger Car Test Procedure) cycle is 6.1 l / 100 km. The load capacity of the small van is 802 kilograms.
“Ford Ranger”, “Iveco Daily”, “Mitsubishi L200”, “Peugeot Partner 4×4 Dangel”, “Renault Master”, “Renault Trafic”, “Renault Master ZE” and “Toyota Proace” entered the competition “Lithuanian Commercial Vehicle of the Year 2020”. City Verso “.
