This player, who wishes to remain anonymous, has thus become the fifth biggest winner in France in the history of the FDJ.
This is what you can call having a sense of timing. The Frenchman who won the € 162 million jackpot at EuroMillions at the end of November validated his grid just a few minutes before the game closes. He thus became the fifth biggest winner in France in the history of the FDJ.
Participants can play until 8:15 p.m. This November 26, the winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, wants to participate in the draw. Indeed, as clarified by the FDJ in a press release, he plays exclusively at EuroMillions for jackpots over 75 million euros. “It was 7:58 p.m. I had to try my luck,” he explains.
17 minutes before the deadline
The thirty-something from the south-east of France has therefore validated his grid 17 minutes before the deadline for the closing of the games. Leaving even more chance to seal his fate, he played using the “flash” system which composes a random grid for players betting on the Internet. The numbers “1 – 20 – 41 – 42 – 50” and the stars “3 and 7” then allowed him to pocket 162,289,050 euros.
The winner plans to use this jackpot to “buy a house”, “become a brewer and market your own beer” and travel to great natural spaces.
“His first destination will be Ireland. He also plans to discover the great outdoors of New Zealand and cross the United States”, details the FDJ. To recover his earnings, he also took the plane “for the first time in twenty years” to go to Paris “for the first time in his life”.
This jackpot comes a little over a month after another Frenchwoman, resident in Tahiti, won 220 million euros, the biggest jackpot in the history of the Euromillions.
