Until now, the wine festival alternated every two years with another event, the River Festival. This era is over: the wine festival now takes place every year. An annualization that was in the works since the last edition. Stakeholders (City of Bordeaux, Tourist Office, CIVB, Metropolis, Region, Department, CCI) have come together to make it the first major festive event of the summer.
After a successful reunion edition last June, Bordeaux celebrates wine will then return from 22 to 25 June 2023. With previews from 15.
Wine route
Bordeaux fête le vin is a rather unique concept, all the families of the vineyard (traders and winemakers) come to meet the consumers. Equipped with a tasting pass, the visitor walks along a wine route in the open air. The pavilions of all the Gironde appellations are represented and the wines are served and commented by those who speak best about them: those who produce them.
“An accessible, open, responsible and committed party”, say the organizers. This commitment question is now at the heart of the event. Attention to environmental issues is a key issue for Bordeaux vineyards, which in France have taken the place of the first department by area of organic vineyards.
