The most important members of the British royal family have been photographed together, as a sign of unity, in the State Rooms of Buckingham Palace, before the reception offered to the diplomatic corps. It is the first time that the kings and princes of Wales have been seen together in public, since the publication of Omid Scobie’s controversial book, titled “Endgame”, in which King Charles III and the Princess of Wales were accused of making racist comments about the first son of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
The Palace has not yet formally responded to the allegations which have been published only in the Dutch version of the book and it is believed that a decision could be made this week whether legal action will be taken. A source close to the palace has highlighted that “that option” is still on the table, although at the moment there is nothing concrete. According to several British media, the king wrote several private letters to Meghan Markle to talk about the issue in 2021, after the interview that the Duchess and Prince Harry gave to Oprah Winfrey.
After the controversy unleashed last Friday with the release of Scobie’s book, the “senior” members of the British royal family continued with their official agenda as normal: Princess Kate to open a new surgical unit at the Evelina London Children’s Hospital, the king, to celebrate Advent in a Coptic Orthodox church, and Prince William to continue his personal initiative to end homelessness in the United Kingdom.
Queen Camilla, like Kate Middleton, stood out for their elegance. The wife of Charles III wore a cream embroidered evening dress by Fiona Clare, with the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, her garter sash, the late Queen Mother’s diamond brooch and the diamond bracelet of Queen Elizabeth II. During the gala dinner held in Buckingham she highlighted the elegance of Kate Middleton. Following the established “dress-code”, the princess rescued one of her most applauded “looks”: the “Georgia” design by Jenny Packhan that she wore at the party after the wedding of Hussein and Rajwa from Jordan. The tiara chosen by Prince William’s wife was the Cambridge Lover’s Knot, one of his and also Diana’s favorites. Added to this are the Greville diamond earrings, belonging to the royal collection.

The Duchess of Sussex has also been seen in public this week after the “racist” controversy that has once again affected the British royal family. She appeared smiling and looking relaxed while walking through Santa Barbara, California, where her family has resided since Megxit. Despite her casual “look,” she wanted to wink at her father-in-law, Charles III, by wearing the Cartier bracelet and watch that belonged to Princess Diana. She also wore a valuable Bentley & Skinner diamond bracelet, which was a gift from the monarch.
