“The willingness to donate blood has increased”

Good medical care in Austria depends largely on willingness to donate blood. In Upper Austria, the blood center in Linz can fall back on more than 50,000 blood donations per year. Despite the corona crisis and lockdowns, there was no shortage of volunteers last year who let their “lifeblood” be drawn. “The year 2020 was very tense. During the first lockdown in spring, the potential blood donors were still unsettled.
