Spokesperson for the COVID-19 vaccination of the Indonesian Ministry of Health, Dr. Siti Nadia Tarmizi, confirmed that the wife of the first case of local transmission of the Omicron variant in Indonesia also tested positive for COVID-19.
“Yes, it’s true, this is positive because the PCR results have come out, initially his wife was negative and now she has gone to the RSPI for isolation while waiting for the genome to be sequenced,” explained Mrs. Nadia, to detik.com Tuesday (12/28/2021).
This news was previously conveyed by the Head of the North Jakarta Sub-dept. of Health (Kasudin) Yudi Dimyati.
“The wife’s results came out positive this afternoon as of December 23. The type of virus is on process,” Yudi said when contacted, Tuesday (28/11/2021).
However, to detikcom, Yudi did not explain in more detail the condition of the patient’s wife. There is also no mention of the clinical condition of the person concerned.
“For the full details, we’ll just have to wait for the release from the Kadinkes,” he explained.
