The widow of Litvinenko criticized by the Kremlin 14 years ago wants to recover 3.5 million from Russia – in the world

Marina Litvinenko, the widow of Alexander Kryvlin, a Kremlin critic who was poisoned in London in 2006, has filed a lawsuit against Russia at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), demanding 3.5 million euros in compensation for her husband’s radioactive poisoning, The Guardian reported.

“It’s been almost 14 years since my husband was murdered. We had to fight for a public investigation. It took a long time to bring the case to court. It was a crime ordered by the state. Now we’re talking not only about my husband, but also “It was a chemical weapon, a prohibited weapon of destruction,” Marina Litvinenko told the newspaper.

According to her, she understands that the people who committed the crime will not be able to be taken to London, but “someone has to answer anyway”.

Alexander Litvinenko, who had become a Kremlin critic from a Russian secret service agent, died in November 2006 after drinking tea contaminated with radioactive polonium-210 in a London hotel. The investigation found that he had been killed by Russian intelligence, presumably with the consent of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Britain has named two Litvinenko murder suspects who are still at large in Russia.
