The wife of murdered Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo has called on authorities to freeze the accounts and properties of Negros Oriental Representative Arnolfo Teves Jr. Two former soldiers, Joric Labrador and Benjie Rodriguez, stated that a “Cong Teves” ordered the hit on Degamo, who was killed on 4 March. Teves, who denies involvement, and his brother Henry are political rivals of the Degamo family. The call came as the House committee on ethics and privileges arranged another hearing to consider Teves’ position as a House member after he failed to return to the Philippines before his travel clearance expired.
