Thiruvananthapuram: Agriculture Minister P. Prasad said that he does not know the whereabouts of the farmer Biju Kuryan who drowned in Israel. Actions have been taken to cancel Biju’s visa. The minister said that the sinking in Israel was deliberate. The process of canceling the visa has started and it is the government’s responsibility to find the person and bring him back.
The state agriculture department sent to Israel on the 12th of this month for modern farming training in Israel. Biju, a native of Kannur Iriti, one of the 27 farmers in the group, went missing last Friday. On the 17th, Biju went missing from the group that went out to eat. He was seen when they went from the hotel where they were staying to another hotel to eat. The fact that he was in possession of the documents including his passport strengthens the suspicion that he had sunk. The Israeli police reached the spot after being informed by the group.
The CCT footage was checked but he could not be found. Agriculture Minister P. said that he deliberately drowned. Prasad later clarified. Biju had sent a message to his wife that he was safe.
During his visit to Israel, the farmer drowned after completing the 6-day study, the farmers who were with him said. Jobi David, a native of Thrissur, told Media One that Biju Kuryan came down from the room with everyone else and said that he went to the room to get pain balm and then went missing.
