Boots Riley, known for his involvement in The Coup, performed alongside singer Aloe Blacc at the event. The rally was hosted by WGAW Board & Negotiating Committee Member Adam Conover. Performances and speeches were scheduled to begin around noon PT.
The WGA received support from various other unions, including the Screen Actors Guild (SAG), the American Federation of Musicians, and the Laborers’ International Union of North America (LiUNA). Alex Aguilar, Business Manager for LiUNA! Local 724, emphasized the importance of solidarity among unions, stating that they have never been united in this way before. He stressed the need to demonstrate to employers the significance of staying united in the fight for fair treatment in the entertainment industry.
Conover echoed the sentiment, expressing confidence in the energy and determination of the participants. He stated that they have maintained the same level of energy since day one and are determined to achieve their goals.
