Understanding that the West is using Ukraine against the Russian Federation for its own purposes, increases attention to the BRICS. This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sregey Lavrov.
“She [причина внимания к БРИКС] lies in understanding the countries that want to get closer to the five, because of how the West is trying to achieve its goals, using Ukraine against the Russian Federation <…> it is clear that this hegemonism [США] global,” Lavrov said at a press conference. The broadcast is on the TV channel “Russia-24”.
Lavrov noted that the US is trying to punish Russia using the Nazi regime. According to him, all countries understand that the goal of the Americans is to eliminate any dissent in the international arena.
Earlier, South African Foreign Minister Naledi Pandor said that the countries BRICS associations, which includes Russia, India, South Africa, Brazil and China, adopted the document. It defines the organization’s extension options.
